High-gloss, reflecting surfaces not only make a product more attractive: Some technologies require ultra-smooth surfaces. For certain sealing surfaces but also for components where the appearance is important (for example bathroom fittings), the surface finish has to be absolutely perfect.
For parts which used to require several processes such as polishing, cleaning, lapping, and electro-coating, reflecting surfaces can now be achieved by high-polish turning only.

With a roughness value (Ra value) of 0.01, the ZWT Zisterer tools allow for the manufacture of faultless surfaces.
Furthermore, the matching tool holder ensures that extremely small tolerances are reliably observed. Thus, ZWT Zisterer tools are used for example for high-polish turning of visible surfaces of fittings to prepare them for further processing. Since no polishing step is required after high-polish turning, the components can remain in the electroplating shop directly for the next processing steps.
